Another day of easy living for the ol’ Stan. Isn’t that what it’s about? So far, and it’s late in the day now, I’ve been out to the gym for a little workout and that’s about it. I did have some correspondence to catch up and I’m hungry to get to a number of things going when I get my laptop back, but no such luck yet.
I logged into Best Buy’s service today to check on the repairs. Mysteriously, it seemed to say the repair was complete, the unit had been returned to the local store and checked out, meaning, apparently, picked up. Thus disturbed, I called the local shop, was put on hold for a three or four minute, then told I’d have to wait while they checked into this.
Fifteen minutes or so later, I hung up and called again. The young man who answered this time did not miss the mention of the feeling of being abandoned one begins to feel after five to eight minutes of being put on hold, and came back a few minutes later with the information that the repair shop had found a “blue goo” in the s-video port and was waiting on parts to appear. More mystery. How had this happened? What agent? When? I hardly ever let anyone use my computer and tend to treat it as extrememly fragile, principally because, as Herbie has pointed out more than once, I’m cheap. The only use outside my own was one trip to school with Kathy (where there are many suspicious characters, I’m sure), and Joe’s use for recording with Andrew and Friends. More mystery.
Well, it’s good to have my old prejudice confirmed that life is, in fact, a mystery.
