Today I have spent sitting, sitting, sitting. This is what one must expect at a national conference, I suppose.
On the other hand, I have learned some things about the finance systems at Planned Parenthood. Or should I say, I have learned what I need to learn to be effective as a board member with fiduciary responsibilities. I have eight pages of questions about our local operations and plans that, I suppose, I will spend the next week or two getting answers for. What are our billing practices? What software are we using? What about receivables? It’s a start. And I have two more days of sessions to develop more questions.
Tonight I’ll be reading up on software offerings, mainly. I’ve seen about three streets in Washington. Last night we went to a Thai restaurant, Best Thai, I believe it was called. Very intimate little place. I had a salad and Blanca and I split a plate of stuffed chicken wings with crabmeat and a very hot sauce. Thai quisine seems to be very spicy. My salad had a peanut sauce, and it was very spicy. And tasty, too, I might add.
it’s a short report today, but it will have to do for now as I’m in the business center of the Crystal City Holiday Inn Express, not having brought my laptop as I had expected. It turned out to be a question of guitar or laptop. which would you choose?
Time to practice.

Practice is good. Cherry blossoms are good. From what I’ve heard on the dubious medium, a Holiday Inn Express will make you smarter. This is turning out well for you. All signs point upward.
I’d choose chitar every time. I’m yoked to a laptop (or two) way too much.
Off to camp; Ohio, here I come.
