Roberto J. Cruz will host poetry reading tomorrow night at the Java Café, 204 E. Jackson Street in downtown Harlingen starting at 7:30. Poets and artists of all stripes are invited to read and perform.
The Washtub Band, featuring Robby Cruz, Edgar Clinton, and John Asbury are likely to perform. At last month’s gathering they performed some excellent songs, including “I’ve Got To Change”, “Crash”, and “Dancing Into Eternity.”
If you value new poetry and interesting, original music, do yourself a favor and go.

Here’s Robby’s note on the event:
My monthly poetry open mic occurs tomorrow night, Wednesday, May 21, 7-9 P.M., at Java Cafe in Harlingen. Acoustic music is always welcome, too~!
If ya didn’t know, Java Cafe is located at 2nd and Jackson in downtown Harlingen, next to Alexandre’s Jewelry.
Also, it’s BYOB, so bring your booze, if you want! Furthermore, the full Java Cafe menu is served during the open mic.
Hope to see some of your faces there! Sing while you may!
