An announcement

Benefit concert Sunday, May 25th, 3 pm, UTB/TSC SET-B Lecture Hall

Dulcé N. Rodriguez is a music education major with an emphasis on flute at The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College.

She has been selected as one of only 12 instrumentalists to perform in Pavia, Italy at the 2008 SoundSCAPE Music Festival, competing against a large pool of international applicants. This represents a unique opportunity to work one-on-one with composers in preparation of the world premier performance of new music on stage in Italy. In addition to private lessons with renowned faculty, she will have the opportunity to attend a variety of workshops on improvisation, career development, and lectures in contemporary musicology.

She has been awarded a partial scholarship to the music festival and with her personal savings, help from family, friends, and the UTB/TSC music faculty she is close to reaching her goal, but she still has unmet financial needs. She still needs $1,330 and has called for our local arts community to sponsor her. Any monetary assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Please remember your donation is tax deductible and your support will be sincerely appreciated by the artist and the artistic community! You can contact Dulcé by phone at 956-459-6614 or by email at dulce.rodriguez@utb.edu.

Dulcé is having a benefit concert this Sunday, May 25th at 3 p.m. at the UTB/TSC SETB-Lecture Hall. The donation is $5.00, but more is always welcome.

Performers will include Javier Eguia, Juan Picazo, Willie Morales, Michale Espinoza, Lucero Rodriguez, Dulce N. Rodriguez, the Mid-Nite Combo, and many more!!

See you there!
