Xavier Garza!
Rio Grande Valley native and
award-winning children’s book author and artist
Xavier Garza writes bilingual children’s books based on his childhood experiences and the folktales he learned while growing up in the Rio Grande Valley. Xavier was the first recipient of the Tejas Star Book Award presented by the Region One Educational Service Center for his book Juan and the Chupacabras.

Join us for a multi-media book talk presentation, art activities for kids, book signings, and an exhibit of images from Xavier’s book Lucha Libre. Books will be for sale at this event. Students, faculty, staff, community members, and children are encouraged to attend.
