A reminder from Virginia Gause
McAllen’s PalmFest International Folklife Celebration is once again participating in the 4th of July Parade in McAllen! The parade starts at 9 am. This year, organizers of this growing festival have a float entry with various depictions of some of PalmFest’s larger attractions.
You could see a cowboy doing roping tricks, a lovely flamenco dancer, a sand box filled with fun toys, a cook bbqing some famous fajitas, or an artist creating his next master piece and all on one float among green palm fronds…a McAllen signature!
Make sure you grab your PalmFest hand fan to keep the heat at bay and to remind you of the festival which will take place the first weekend in October at the McAllen Convention Center. Visit the PalmFest booth at Archer Park for more information or to pick up your fan if you didn’t get one along the parade route!
For more info call the PalmFest hotline at 682-5566 or go to our website at: www.palmfest.org
