Harlingen, TX - The 1st ever Cinesol Film Festival Poster Contest has announced a winner. The winner is Rui-Long Munico of Pharr!
Rui-Long Monico is a member of the Graphic Design Club at the University of Texas Pan American. He works at Beyond Wonderland Studio which is a communication agency experienced in “advertising, branding, consulting, design, identity, illustration, new media, packaging, print & web”. The bulk of their business has primarily been corporate branding and web development.
“For the poster, my major inspirations were American and Swiss designs from the 70s….Also, the soft, almost washed out hues the semi transparent photographic background and the simple yet memorable illustration are reminiscent of California’s 70s era posters” says Monico.
Monico won $250 and his poster will be the face of the 15th Annual Cinesol Film Festival. His winning design will be on posters, program books, t-shirts and more.
