Island raked by surf

We went to the beach last night, arriving just before dusk. We’ve never seen the ocean so disturbed. The Weather Channel charts showed eight to ten foot waves in our area, and we would not dispute the numbers. Some were coming a hundred yards up the beach after they crashed.

As Gene said, here we stand comfortably observing what is a horror two hundred and fifty miles  northeast. Of course, the day will come when we are at the center of the spectacle and, I must confess, this is not a situation where one is jealous of the participants.
