Who stamped “deceased?”
It had to be the clerk in the
Overheated (kerosene) post office,
Seeing the name, stamping “deceased,”
Then, the letter back ….
And with it the dictionary eater,
Coal shoveler ( freighter Tampa to Maine),
Spinning mill,
Story rich,
Cut some firewood,
Plant some potatoes,
Pick some strawberries,
Keep a fire well into summer ….
Deceased ….
