buttonshirt

By Gene Novogrodsky

Fingers

He asks me to button the
Top two buttons on his
Polo shirt.

Usually he buys polo shirts
With zippers.

But he still has some
With buttons, and he’ll
Ask me for help,
Aging fingers, bent fingers,
Trembling fingers ….

Mistakes Of Class

gardener“Excuse me, you’re my gardener.”
“No, I’m not, just an old guy on a bicycle.”

“Who is that man out there? Your Mexican gardener?”
“No, he’s just wearing old clothes and pulling some weeds, a neighbor.”

“You do work here, don’t you? And if you do, do you help parents move their kids
in?”
“No, I’m helping a kid move in myself.”

Faceless Mexican.
Faceless Mexican.
Faceless Greek.

Just me.
Just me.
Just me.

Find your gardener; you need him.
Look around, many gardeners, even voluntary ones.
Heavy trunks, bulky.

Options of birth.
Options of birth.
Options of birth.
