A response to “Lloyd’s Prayer” by Jack King
Our economy
Which art in shambles
Lesson be thy name.
The banks lent wrong
The money’s gone
We’ve been priced out of Heaven.
Give us this day our bowl of beans
For debt won’t feed our nation
And forbid the Congress to borrow again
From future generations.
Worthless IOU’s art not
The Power nor the Glory
Never, Never, and not Ever.
Amen

BOAST OF THE BIG
Tho I walk thru the valley
Of the shadow of debt
I will fear no jail
When I empty the till
The Fed will refill
For I am just too big to fail.

the politicians creed
we believe in one fraud, and the dollar almighty,
elector, and creator of mirth;
and in our party,
the only one, our lord,
which was conceived in self promotion,
financed with taxpayer funds
subject to no ethical power
self serving and cherished.
upon reelection
we ascend into office
to be seated in the job that we bought
pompous and mighty
and able to buy any judge that we dread
we believe in the system
the agenda almighty
the favors due our contributors
the perks that we win
the reelection to the office
and fraud everlasting
amen
